DO YOU KNOW HOW TO SHOP BLACK FRIDAY? TRICKS & TIPS FROM A PRO SHOPPER

First of all: FOLLOW MY BLOG~ :)

So, I told you guys my next post would be about Black Friday. It's quickly approaching. Hard to believe it will be here in less than a week. A lot of places are starting on Thursday at Midnight. So, be sure to check those flyer's.

So, how can I make your Black Friday run smoother? Here are some tips and tricks from someone that has been shopping for years on Black Friday!

  • Look at your ads and see what is on sale.
  • Next make sure you browse all adds and do price checks to see who has the lowest price.
  • A lot of places price match so, if you want to save a trip...take the add of the item you want into the closer location.
  • Most places do not match Black Friday Specials...Only sale price specials. (Double check locations to make sure though)
  • Place adds in the order of what store you are going to first.
  • Get up extra early. Don't be one of those that wait till 1/2 hour before the sale starts. Believe me...you will be lucky to get what you want, if you wait.
  • If the sale starts at 5:00 am and the store is a 24 hr store, go 3 hours early, to get in line.
  • Start with the item you want the most.
  • If you have a person with you, have them stand in one line, you stand in the other, for the items you want.
  • Once you are done with one store, Don't wait around...quickly head to the next.
  • If you are waiting in a long line, be sure to know your store ahead of time. You will want to know what location the item that is on sale is at. So for instance, if it is a camera...you will be heading to electronics (more than likely)
  • When you get your items, head to the front register as quick as possible. If you have that extra person and you are only getting a few items, have them get in the cash register line for you. Do not do this with a big cart. You will tick someone off.
  • Last but not least...make time for breakfast! That's one of the things I look forward to the most. :D
Any questions...please ask.

HOW I SHOP BLACK FRIDAY

So, I got out EVERY year for Black Friday. I love it! The excitement of getting up early and beating all of the people! It's so much fun! I get that Adrenalin rush just knowing...I will always get what I want. Now you are asking how? Well, here is what I have learned. If you think the store opens up at 5:00 am and you are going to get there in line at 4:45, plus get what you want....think again! You will be lucky to get what you want. The line will wrap around the store or inside the store. People like me get there at around 2:00 am or even earlier to get in line.

You are saying...I can't get up that early! Well, I do every year and I most always get a choice of a line I want to get it. I sometimes take someone with me and put them in a line, while I stand in the other line. It works!

Here is my schedule every Black Friday:

  • 2:00 am: get up, throw on my clothes/hat & head out the door.
  • 2:30 am: Go to Meijers. I LOVE Meijers! A lot of there items are right out in the open so, I can throw them in my cart early on. Then I get in line for the items I want. I usually am about the 2nd- 4th person in line. Therefore, I will get the item I need.
  • 5:00am: Head directly to the line ASAP. I usually don't have much of a wait if I go quick.
  • 5:10 am: Head to Target, get in line. I most always know of a main item I want at Target, I go directly to that item and RUN....once the door opens. Grab my item and head to the Cash Register QUICK! If you wait to long, the line will wrap around the store so, you have to move FAST! Have someone go get in line for you and then jump in. That helps to.
  • 6:00 am. I decide where I want to go next, usually the Mall. They have awesome deals, especially on clothing. You will be in line for a while. So, like above...when you know you are close to being done, have someone get in line.
After I get done at the mall. It's time for Breakfast! After Breakfast, I may go to a few more selected places. I usually am always back home by 12:00.

One word of advice. If you are in a long line...waiting to get an item...DO NOT let anyone cut! People are out there watching and get ticked. Plus...do not cut either. I had a guy one year bump me hard as I was going through the register line. I had no idea...why? I found out later, I had some people cut with me. He threatened them in the store and told them he would meet them outside. So, be careful! People are crazy on Black Friday. If you are having someone save you a spot for the register, there usually aren't to many people that would get upset. As long as you don't pop in line with a huge cart. I only do that if I have 1 or 2 items.

My next post will be how to save on Black Friday. So, keep an eye out. :D

HOLIDAY SAVINGS & IDEAS for that FASHION DIVA

The Holidays are quickly approaching us. Hard to believe it's already November. Are you like me, trying to figure out the cheapest way to look good & to spend less on Christmas? Well, we are in the same boat, so...let's help each other out.

How to save on your Holiday Outfits?

1. EBay ( A lot of people are listing their Holiday outfits in eBay right now. Don't feel like you have to shop just from one person (although you can get combined shipping offers). Look for the deals & Auctions that are closing at crazy times. Like when...people are sleeping, at work, holidays...etc.
You can visit my store: I am adding Holiday items right now at low prices for all ages! Here are a few examples.

I also have quite a few listed on Facebook that are not on here yet. You can buy directly from my facebook using Pay pal. http://www.facebook.com/#!/Forever.A.Teen

Now onto Goodwill...

2. Goodwill: You can find super cute tops for less than $4.00. You may have to search through them but, it's so worth it.

3. Thrift Stores: You can sometimes find almost new tops for less than $2.00. Remember they wash!

4. Clearance: Clothes don't last on the racks for to long. So be patient! Wait till they go on clearance. If you can find a cute Cami on clearance. You can search for a sweater on sale. Like the old saying...Patience is a virtue. Keep going back. More than likely...that top will go on sale or clearance.

These are a lot of the things I do to save so, I can look good for the holidays.

Now onto Saving....shopping for presents.

1. Keep an eye out for Sales in the Sunday sales flyer's.
2. Shop eBay...you never know what unique items you may find.
Visit my store for savings: http://stores.ebay.com/FOREVER-A-TEEN
3. If you don't have a Facebook acct. You need to get one!  A lot of people sell items on Facebook now. Most accept pay pal.
4. Look on eBay for coupons you can buy, if you don't have one. It's worth it if you buy a 20% off coupon for $5.00 and spend $300 dollars. You will get $60.00 off minus the $5.00 you spent. Total savings $55.00. A lot of people sell coupons on eBay.
5. Get up and go Black Friday shopping. You would not believe the savings you can find. If you haven't tried it, it's a must!

Hope you enjoyed my savings ideas. Keep an eye out for my next blog. It will be on how to organize and save on Black Friday?
