I have been about savings for quite a long time. Especially
when it comes to buying clothes. As you may already know, I have been selling on
eBay for over 7 years and love it! I have learned a lot about saving over the
past 7 years. So, I thought I would give you a little help on savings. Here are
some of the questions people ask me. I am going to answer them. Now I can't tell
you all of my little secrets but, I will tell you some. :D
How do you save money on clothing?
answer: I wait for sales, clearance, and seasonal changes. You
can also purchase items online. Ebay is a great place to shop and save! I have a
store online and even though I save money, I still make it to where my cutomers
save to. It shouldn't cost a lot to look good. My store is listed above. Check
it out! Or you can visit this site: Forever A Teen for pre
teen/teen/Juniors/Women.

How do you know when things are going on sale or
clearance?
answer: I sign up for stores e-mails, read flyer's in ads
plus, you get a general idea when you see that stores are switching out their
merchandise for a new season. Plus some stores offer the same sales yearly. For
Gymboree, I always knew they would have a red balloon sale seasonally. Buy the
year before and you save big time.
Where do you shop at?
answer: I shop all over, I go to malls, consignment stores,
discount stores...anywhere I can find a good deal but great clothes! I also sell
my kids clothing to. Another way to make money towards shopping.
How do you get coupons for shopping?
answer: Newspapers often have flyer's in them with coupons,
magazines are great place to look for coupons, eBay is an awesome place to find
coupons. Just remember, when buying a coupon, make sure it's worth your money.
Are you going to purchase a lot?
Example: If you get a coupon for Gymboree that may have cost
ed you $5.00 but, the coupon is worth 20% off your full purchase.
To save money, you will have to spend at least $50.00 to save
$5.00.
If it's a 20 % off coupon, you will get 20% off your sale,
before taxes.
So on $50.00, you will save $10.00 but...if you spent $5.00
for a coupon, your savings will be $5.00. So, $10.00 savings-$5.00 coupon =
$5.00 savings.
The more you spend on your purchase, the more you save.
Spend $100.00 with a 20% off coupon, you save $20.00 minus the
$5.00 you spent on your coupon Total Savings: $15.00. Get it! :D
What is the best way to save?
Here is my favorite! Look for items on clearance, plus use a
coupon and you save big time.
Example:
You buy...$100 on clearance items (which you already have
saved on). You then use your coupon of 20% off your entire purchase (make sure
it doesn't say excluding clearance or non sale price items)
$100.00 on clearance items.
-20% = $80.00
Savings: $20.00 - $5.00 for coupon = $15.00 savings
So, you get the additional $15.00 savings on your clearance
items. If you bought clearance, you know you saved! That is my favorite way to
save. If you buy end of the season and wait alittle bit, prices will drop. Then
you save even more. I love saving my money!
Don't forget to visit my store! Lots of great savings in there.
How do you save money & where do you like to go to save?
Thanks for the tips. I use coupons and buy things on sale too. Recently I've started shopping at consignment stores.
ReplyDeleteHey! Just wanted to let you know I have given you The Versatile Blogger Award. You can check it out at http://rmg-anordinaryhousewife.blogspot.com/2012/01/versatile-blogger-award.html
ReplyDeleteI love consignment shops Dree Getz! It's hard for me to buy brand new for myself unless I get a really good deal now. You just have to be careful about what stores you shop at. Some can charge quite a bit for consignment.
ReplyDeleteAn Ordinary Housewife! Thank you so much for the award, I appreciate it and will be sure to pass it along. :D
